TRUST

The word trust appears about 90 times in the Bible as near as I can tell after several counts. That's a pretty important word according to the Lord. It occurs 39 times in the Psalms, my favorite of which says, "Those who know Your name will trust in You, for You, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek You." Psalm 9:10

All verses quoted are from the New International Version (NIV) of the Bible unless otherwise stated. I use the PC Study Bible which has all current publicized American Bibles, Hebrew and Greek concordances, and on occasion use Biblegateway.com when I'm not able to access my computer Bible program. My actual Bible is a New King James Version Study Bible. The reason I use the PC version when blogging is because of the ease of searching for words, verses and topics. I believe firmly there's nothing like feasting on God's word, turning the fine pages of Scripture and making notes in the columns as the Holy Spirit teaches me.

Ex 14:31 The people feared the LORD and put their trust in him.

Ps 4:5 Offer right sacrifices and trust in the LORD.

Ps 13:5 But I trust in your unfailing love;

Ps 20:7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.

Ps 22:3-5 Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One; you are the praise of Israel. 4 In you our fathers put their trust; they trusted and you delivered them. 5 They cried to you and were saved; in you they trusted and were not disappointed.

Ps 22:9 Yet you brought me out of the womb; you made me trust in you even at my mother's breast.

Ps 25:2 in you I trust, O my God.

Ps 31:6 I hate those who cling to worthless idols; I trust in the LORD.

Ps 31:14 But I trust in you, O LORD; I say, "You are my God."

Ps 33:21 In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name.

Ps 37:3 Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.

Ps 40:3 Many will see and fear and put their trust in the LORD.

Ps 40:4 Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his trust, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods.

Ps 56:4 in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me?

Ps 62:8 Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.

Meditate on how you have trusted the Lord. How do you NOT trust the Lord sometimes? What can you do to create a deeper sense of trust in Him?

Let me hear from you. Please send me your insights, questions or concerns in comments. I want this blog to be interactive, not just me preaching.

Because he first loved us,
